This phrase is connected to attaining to the knowledge of Christ. Some commentators adopt the word “age” as the translation of ἡλικίας in preference to stature. The older English versions of Wiclif, Tyndale, Cranmer, the Geneva, and Rheims, all employ this term. The authorized places it in the margin. The original admits of either meaning. John 1:16, reads, “of his fulness we have all received. This describes a filled condition produced by the completion of this new spiritual life in the body.  The body of both Jews and Gentiles is the fullness of Christ that took years to accept and assimilate in daily life. We need not force this text to refer to an individual’s full spiritual growth which will be attained to the greatest degree when in heaven. In keeping with the context of the letter, we can understand the meaning by examining the opposite condition of maturity. It might describe a life of uncertainty, vacillation, and fluctuation that could be easily swayed by deceptive schemes of others.  Examples of this are seen in Galatians 1:6-9 or Galatians 3:1. The outline of the Hebrew letter fits this context, also.  Then, of course, geat peer pressure would influence even an apostle of Christ to destroy the gospel by the hypocritical act that supported a body of Christ without Gentiles. Paul said that “he stood condemned” ((Gal. 2:11). This did not describe the “measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” and of the “knowledge of the Son of God.”
